Monzon's humble beginnings in the hospitality industry began stocking minibars at the former Nikko Hotel in Mexico City (now the Hyatt Regency Mexico City). As a result of his passion for guest service, he eventually found his calling at the concierge desk. His efforts were recognized in 2004 when he received recognition after a rigorous process from the esteemed international association Les Clefs d'Or, including multiple meetings, national and international congresses, examinations and completion of a special project. Named for the gold key badges that members display on their clothing, the organization was established more than 80 years ago by 11 concierges in Paris and is the premier network of professional hotel concierges with nearly 4,000 members from more than 50 countries.

Originally from Veracruz, Mexico, Monzon has resided in Cancun for the past seven years, bringing personal, first-hand knowledge of the destination to his work. In addition to his concierge duties at Grand Residences, he is also president of the Asociación de Concierges de Mexico, the Mexican chapter of Les Clefs d'Or, which represents more than 180 concierges from different hotels throughout the country, from which 112 are Clefs d'Or. This year, he will preside over the XVIII Panamerican Congress, where multiple concierges from the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Peru and Brazil will gather together in Los Cabos, Mexico. Monzon also leads charity activities for the organization as well as educational outreach to universities to teach students about careers in the service industry. Monzon holds a degree in hospitality and tourism.
