Denver's Curtis - a Doubletree by Hilton Launches $5 Million Guest Room & Lobby Renovation

. December 17, 2013

December 17, 2013 - Denver's only pop culture hotel, the Curtis - a Doubletree by Hilton , is pleased to announce that it has launched an extensive $5 million property renovation that will include upgrades to all guest rooms as well as a lobby expansion.

Originally opened in 2007, the downtown Denver hotel features 13 themed guest room floors - including the Chick Flick Floor, the TV Mania Floor and the Mad About Music Floor. Each of the Curtis' 336 guest rooms will undergo a dramatic transformation, including new furniture, artwork, linens, carpeting, drapery and more.

The hotel will also be introducing two additional one-bedroom guest suites - the KISS Suite, named after America's most flamboyant rock band, and the Spice Girls Suite, dedicated to Britain's best-selling girl band. Each suite will be 800 square feet and feature a separate living room and master bedroom.

The Curtis is also renovating and expanding its bright lobby. The hotel's popular interactive video art installations and 5 & Dime Store are staying put; new features will include a coffee station, a business center and updated lobby furniture.

The remodel will be completed by Spring 2014.

Earlier this year, the Curtis unveiled the new Four Square Ballroom, a 7,000 square feet indoor/outdoor event space that can accommodate up to 260 people and boasts a large retractable nano glass and a sizeable outdoor patio complete with a private bar, custom lounge furniture and a fireplace.

“We can't wait to share all of these exciting upgrades with our loyal guests,” said JoAnn Elston, the “Leading Lady,” or General Manager of the hotel. “The guest room renovation is really designed to let the hotel's unique, funky personality shine through even brighter.”

The Curtis offers more than 28,000 total square feet of event space, all named after favorite childhood games - including the Marco Polo and Peek-a-Boo ballrooms, plus 15 additional meeting rooms.

Managed by Denver's Sage Hospitality, the Curtis is a member of Hilton HHonors guest rewards program. The hotel also features a large Fitness Center, a business center, the Oceanaire Seafood Room and The Corner Office Restaurant + Martini Bar, a unique Sage Restaurant Group concept by restaurateur Peter Karpinski.
