October 7, 2013 - Boston East India Hotels LLC, a global hotel investment, development and management company headquartered in North Andover, Mass., today announced the acquisition of the Captain Daniel Stone Inn in Brunswick, Maine. The elegant full-service hotel has 30 rooms attached to a 19th century federal-style building that underwent a $2.5 million renovation in 2011.

Boston East India Hotels will rebrand the Captain Daniel Stone Inn as part of its Troca Hotels collection of global curated lifestyle hotels. The hotel, which is rated a No. 1 hotel by TripAdvisor, has a history of consistently high guest reviews and will undergo a renovation of rooms and food and beverage and public spaces to be completed by March 2014. As part of its rebranding, the company has ended the property's affiliation with the Ascend Collection of boutique hotels. Once rebranded, the hotel will join the Troca Hotels collection, which places an emphasis on curated, lifestyle hotels and signature restaurants
with live entertainment.

“The Captain Daniel Stone Inn offers an excellent opportunity to reposition a boutique hotel with tremendous upside,” said Abhijit “Beej” Das, President and CEO of Boston East India Hotels.“Conversion to the Troca Hotels brand and its link to international curated lifestyle hotel distribution and an emphasis on creating an iconic food, beverage and entertainment destination are projected to significantly enhance the overall performance of the property.”

The Captain Daniel Stone Inn is based on a historic building that was erected in 1809. Sitting on nearly two acres of land, the three-story hotel features well equipped guest rooms and views of the nearby Androscoggin River. The property will feature twenty-six deluxe guestrooms and four suites with elegant four-fixture bathrooms and living rooms (including two with fireplaces). Bowdoin College, consistently ranked in the list of the top-five American liberal arts colleges, is steps away from the hotel and Maine's largest employer, General Dynamics' Bath Iron Works, is a short drive away.

The hotel has a state of the art fitness facility with cardio equipment, free weights, sauna and hot tub. It also has a total meeting and function capacity of 205 people. The restaurant and bar have a capacity of 145.
