First Hospitality Group Receives Build Wisconsin Award for Milwaukee Hotel

ROSEMONT, IL - October 3, 2013 - Rosemont, Illinois-based First Hospitality Group, Inc. (FHG) announced today that its 127-room Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown hotel, formerly the Loyalty Building, has been honored by the Association of General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin with a 2013 Build Wisconsin award. First Hospitality Group, Inc. President and COO Robert Habeeb made the announcement.

The award honors the remarkable work completed by FHG and the Stevens Construction Group in the Design Build - Renovation category for their efforts in transforming the building from a historic landmark into a modern hotel. Renovations on the building, which served as the original headquarters of Northwestern Mutual Life circa 1886, initially began in late 2011. The hotel officially opened its doors to the public on Nov. 13, 2012, after nearly a year of construction.

“As an iconic building in downtown Milwaukee, our goal was to maintain all of the outstanding details and character that made the Loyalty Building a city treasure,” said Habeeb. “We are honored to receive an award of this caliber recognizing the hard work and dedication that went into preserving that history while creating a new unique, one-of-a-kind travel experience for guests.”

The Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown hotelfeatures 127 well-appointed guestrooms, a 24-hour fitness and business center, complimentary high-speed Internet and 4,500 square feet of meeting and event space. Build Wisconsin winners will be honored at an award gala on Thursday, Oct. 10 at the Truax Gateway at Madison College.
