New Modern Extended-stay Hotel Set to Open in Midtown Manhattan This Winter

Housed in the former Williams Club, the 33-room property developed by Shlomo Bakhash of The Kash Group will be managed by Warner Hospitality

. September 23, 2013

NEW YORK - September 23, 2013 - The William, a new modern extended stay hotel, will be opening at 24 E. 39th St between Park and Madison Avenues. The location formerly housed the Williams Club, a university club for alumni of Williams College. Purchased by Shlomo Bakhash of the Kash Group for $9.02 million last year, the property is undergoing an $11 million transformation. The 33room modern extended stay hotel will redefine the long stay guest experience through a localized and authentic approach inspired by three pillars: service, design and technology. Slated to open this winter, guest residences are available for stays of 30 days or more.

Over the last 26 years, Bakhash has owned and operated a portfolio of over 30 commercial and residential properties. This will be the developer's first entrance into the hospitality sector. Bakhash has tapped Warner Hospitality to manage the property, a highly specialized firm focused on the development and management of luxury hotels with a portfolio that includes the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City, currently under development. Warner Hospitality has a strong track record for implementing systems that ensure a property's financial and operational success. The company's Executive Vice President of Development, Michael Fuller, and Executive Vice President of Hotel Operations, Christopher Najbicz, will oversee all operational details.
Due to its 33room size, The William is uniquely positioned to offer an unparalleled service standard to guests. Warner Hospitality is developing a service program that delivers a highly curated and detail oriented guest experience. This program will include exclusive partnerships with local businesses that build a strong community network for the hotel property, as well as the development of a private concierge membership program.

The William will pair the industry's most forward looking amenities program with a handcrafted design that leaves no detail unexplored. Designed by Edwin Zawadzki and Mason Wickham, In Situ Design; Lilian Bakhash, Lilian B Interiors; and fine artist William Engel; The William will feature five floors of guest suites, each with a unique, vibrant color palette that boldly blurs the lines between architecture, interior design, and art.

Jason Hicks and Yves Jadot, two well known New York City restaurateurs behind Jones Wood Foundry, have signed on to develop two onsite food & beverage offerings. Chef Robert Aiken, former chef at Stephen Starr's Dandelion in Philadelphia, will helm The Peacock and Shakespeare's Pub, two venues offering guests and locals a range of fine dining and relaxed pub fare.
