Shangri-La to Manage Shangri-La Hotel, Shaoxing, China Slated to Open in 2017

HONG KONG - September 20, 2013 - Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with Zhejiang Yinan Group Co. Ltd. to operate a 336-room hotel opening in Shaoxing, China in 2017.

Shangri-La Hotel, Shaoxing will be located close to the National Urban Wetland Park, near the city's new business district. It will be Shaoxing's first international luxury hotel and will be conveniently located near the city's culture centre, science and technology centre, financial centre and sport centre, all of which are also under construction in Jinghu.

"Around 140 million people live in the Yangtze River Delta metropolitan area," said Shangri-La President and CEO Greg Dogan. "Shangri-La has been operating hotels in this dynamic region for over 25 years, and we look forward to introducing Shangri-La hospitality to Shaoxing with the opening of our 12 th property in the region."

Shangri-La Hotel, Shaoxing will feature luxurious and spacious accommodations, a variety of restaurants, a health club with a 25-metre indoor pool and spa facilities, and a selection of meeting rooms, including a 1,600-square-metre grand ballroom.

Shaoxing is in the northeastern Zhejiang province, with Ningbo to the east and Hangzhou to west. The hotel is a 40-minute drive from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.

In addition to its thriving textile industry and famous rice wine, Shaoxing is a popular tourist destination. Lined with canals and waterways, Shaoxing is called "the city of bridges" and draws visitors with its rich heritage and culture, picturesque scenery, famous historical figures and architecture.
