. July 22, 2013

Palma de Majorca - July 22, 2013 - The ClubHotel Riu Gran Canaria reopens its doors tomorrow following a major renovation which will amaze guests with new services and facilities. The hotel presents a totally new and fresh image, with spaces ideal for enjoying the spectacular ocean views from its infinity pool or modern bars; whilst the little ones will find an original RiuLand with everything they could want, full of enticing attractions including a pool with slides and games. RIU trusts that the ClubHotel Riu Gran Canaria will renew its status as a hotel of choice for families thanks to this renovation which adds to its excellent seafront location, 24-hour All Inclusive service, vast programme of activities and a garden and pool area covering over 30,000 square metres.

The ClubHotel Riu Gran Canaria, in a seafront location in Maspalomas, in the south of Gran Canaria, boasts 639 rooms which have been completely refurbished in keeping with the style which RIU is applying to all its new projects. The rooms are dominated by bright colours and simple lines to bring light to the space, as well as original features in the decor to give them a special character. They are also equipped with 40-inch flat-screen televisions, electronic safes and fully renovated bathrooms.

In terms of dining options, the hotel has introduced many innovative improvements. As well as the buffet restaurant, it now boasts three speciality restaurants for evening meals: an Asian option, a grill and a restaurant serving up Canarian cuisine. The lounge bar terrace will be the new meeting point in the hotel with its modern and relaxed design which is reminiscent of the island of Ibiza's chillout style. Next to the lounge bar, guests will find the new "AfterHours" bar which will open from midnight until 8.00 in the morning.

Following the renovation, the hotel will have two main pools next to which guests can enjoy a drink in the modern "Liquid" bar. Or, for a more sophisticated atmosphere, they can opt for the "Purple" bar which is situated next to the new infinity pool. On the far side of this pool, there is also the "Atlantico" bar restaurant, which is ideal for a lunch with sea views.

The kids will have the time of their life with new attractions as the children's pool boasts an original waterfall feature, as well as a spaceship and a huge dragon with games and slides. The RiuLand club, with activities suited to all age groups, will offer fun options every day of the week. For adults, RIU also offers RiuFit, a programme of sporting activities run by specialised trainers, as well as RiuArt, a fun workshop for developing guests' creativity through different materials and techniques. What's more, and for the first time, RIU has introduced a new entertainment programme for teenagers called RI4U.

The ClubHotel Riu Gran Canaria will also incorporate the new "Bubble" nightclub where entry and drinks are included in the All Inclusive by RIU programme. Also on offer, is a full range of sporting facilities such as a gym, multi-sports pitch, volleyball courts, a Spa centre and a WiFi internet connection throughout the hotel.
