Partner State Associations Honored by AH&LA

June 20, 2013 - AH&LA The awards recognize AH&LA partner state associations that have had the most significant increase in membership development and retention programs during the previous year.

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) today honored six partner state lodging associations with the annual Chair's Cup awards at the board of directors meeting. The awards recognize AH&LA partner state associations that have had the most significant increase in membership development and retention programs during the previous year.

Based on dues categories, the following states received awards for outstanding performance in membership development in 2012:

  • The South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association received the award for the greatest percentage increase of rooms and properties and greatest increase in new rooms and properties in the $0 - $49,999 dues category;

  • The Michigan Lodging & Tourism Association received the award for the greatest percentage increase in rooms and properties in the $50,000 - $99,999 dues category;

  • The Tennessee Hospitality Association received the award for the greatest increase in new rooms in the $50,000 - $99,999 dues category;

  • The Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association received the award for the greatest increase in new properties in the $50,000 - $99,999 dues category;

  • The Texas Hotel & Lodging Association earned the honor for greatest percentage increase of properties and greatest increase in new rooms and properties in the over $100,000 dues category; and

  • The California Hotel & Lodging Association was awarded the greatest percentage increase in rooms in the over $100,000 dues category.

“Each of these states has done an outstanding job in communicating the bottom-line benefits available through membership in both the state and national lodging associations,” said AH&LA COO and Executive Vice President Pam Inman, IOM, CAE, CMHS. “Their leadership and dedication to these grassroots efforts are crucial to meeting our joint goal of representing every hotel in the country and leveraging that collective strength on behalf of the industry.”
