Triple Creek Ranch Announces New Thanksgiving Celebration

An American Culinary Experience in the Heart of Montana's Lewis & Clark Territory

. June 18, 2013

Darby, Montana - June 18, 2013 - Triple Creek Ranch, a luxury resort high in the Bitterroot Mountain Range of the Montana Rockies in the heart of Lewis and Clark territory, will open for its first-ever Thanksgiving Celebration this year. The Relais & Châteaux property, an all-inclusive retreat for adult guests that offers rustic elegance and extraordinary culinary experiences, will offer an American Thanksgiving Celebration season, from November 21 to December 2, 2013. The centerpiece is a special Thanksgiving feast created by Triple Creek's Executive Chef Jacob Leatherman that will be paired with award-winning wines from the ranch's cellar under the direction of Sommelier Jeremy White.

Guests are welcome to stay for the entire time or as many days as they choose. The hallmark of Triple Creek Ranch is that guests are at total leisure to pursue any or all ranch experiences during their stay and most are included in the rate. During the Thanksgiving Celebration period, a day might begin with an early morning horseback ride or a team penning competition on the nearby 26,000 acre CB Ranch. Depending on the weather, they might go fly fishing for trophy cutthroat trout on the Bitterroot River or head out for dog sledding with Triple Creek's resident musher, Jessie Royer, who has competed in 11 Iditarod's in Alaska.

On Thanksgiving Day, guests will enjoy cocktails at the home of Triple Creek Ranch's owners Barbara and Craig Barrett, who will give a private tour of their museum-worthy Western Art collection. Then it's time for Chef Leatherman's Thanksgiving dinner, which pays homage not just to the flavors of the West but to the bounty of America. Starters will include chestnut soup topped with a dollop of spiced crème fraîche and seared rainbow trout served with lobster grits, port sauce and Swiss chard. Main courses feature grilled bison rib eye steaks served with sweet potato gnocchi, braised escarole, balsamic turnips and porcini sauce and Alaskan halibut accompanied by rye pasta, Chanterelle mushrooms, edamame, Meyer lemon emulsion, and fresh tarragon. This most all-American of feasts will conclude with pumpkin cheesecake topped with spiced whipped cream and pecan tartlets served with vanilla crème fraîche ice cream.

The accompanying wines have been selected by Sommelier Jeremy White, who oversees a cellar that has won eight Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence, including one "Best of" Award. White's picks include a 2009 Chappellet Signature Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, a 2011 Et Fille Heredity Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley and a 2010 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc from Russian River Valley.

Celebrations continue the next day, when guests travel via horseback or ranch vehicle to an alfresco Thanksgiving Barbecue alongside the Bitterroot River, where Chef Leatherman will prepare a traditional Thanksgiving feast with turkey, stuffing and sides, accompanied by specially chosen wines. It's bound to taste even more spectacular in Montana's great outdoors.

Rates during the Thanksgiving Celebration period start at $950 per night, per couple and include accommodations in a luxurious private cabin, all meals and beverages and most activities. Visit Triple Creek Ranch for more information.
