Konover Hotel Corporation Appoints Three New GMs Within its Midwest Hotel Portfolio

Naming Heather Ann Bennett, David Rains and Pete Fortune as the New Leaders

West Hartford, CT - April 29, 2013 - Peter H. Mason, CHA, executive vice president of Konover Hotel Corporation, is pleased to announce three management appointments within its Midwest hotel portfolio. The new appointments include Heather Ann Bennett as general manager of the Hampton Inn in Marshall, Michigan; David Rains as general manager of the Holiday Inn Express in Portage, Indiana; and Pete Fortune as general manager of the Holiday Inn Express, Kansas City, Kansas.

“These three experienced and enthusiastic professionals are ideally suited to lead our hotel properties,” said Mr. Mason. “We are pleased to have them on our management team.”

Ms. Bennett has been promoted to general manager of the Hampton Inn Marshall, a 73-room select service hotel. She first joined KHC in 2010 and most recently served as the general manager of the Holiday Inn Express in Howe, Indiana. Ms. Bennett studied business management at the University of Phoenix and has more than ten years of industry experience.

As general manager of the Holiday Inn Express Portage, Mr. Rains will oversee operations, sales and marketing for the 87-room select service hotel. Mr. Rains comes to KHC with extensive experience in hotel management across multiple brands. He has a bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism management from Purdue University.

Mr. Fortune has been promoted to serve as general manager for both the Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn in Kansas City, overseeing operations, sales and administration, for 175 guest rooms and suites. Joining KHC in 2008, Mr. Fortune has held positions within several KHC managed properties, and has served as general manager for the Hampton Inn for the past year. He has over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry and served in the United States Air Force.

The Midwest hotels are each owned by a Konover-related partnership and managed by Konover Hotel Corporation.
