. April 02, 2013

FRAMINGHAM, MA - April 2, 2013 - Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center - an iconic Framingham hotel where old world charm meets contemporary comforts and exemplary service, announces the multi-million dollar renovations should be complete by May, 2013. Extensive improvements to the 375-key hotel include freshly designed public space, a newly concepted restaurant and lounge, comfortably appointed guest rooms, upgraded ballroom and fitness center. The expansive renovations will complement the existing 22,000 square foot, state-of-the-art conference and meeting facilities approved by the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC).

“The improved design will embrace the favorite, traditional elements of the castle-inspired hotel while incorporating modern features that create a functional and contemporary environment,” explains Doris Hager of Hager and Associates Inc., the interior design firm for Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center.

The new lobby, guest corridors and general public space will focus on a soothing color palate of blue and grey, which sets the tone for a calming, relaxed journey through the hotel. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by a dramatic stone fireplace and works of art positioned around the lobby. Lush fabrics and textures woven throughout the furnishings will invite guests to gather in comfortable seating vignettes.

Fresh touches from the lobby will carry through into Postern Grille, the new restaurant and lounge. Personifying liveliness with warm, active colors in an unwinding atmosphere, the dark grey tiles and copper bar with marble counter in Postern Grille play to the luxurious materials often seen in historic castles. Punches of black will provide definition and contrast while an open kitchen sets the stage for an interactive experience for restaurant guests, luring patrons with vibrant energy.

Soft neutral linens and draperies will adorn each of the guest rooms providing a comforting feel for a home-away-from-home stay. Rich woods and subtle tones of blue complete with sleek furniture, luxury mattresses, sheets and oversized pillows will create a restful night's sleep in the classic tradition of the Sheraton brand.

The Grand Ballroom, with its impressive eighteen-foot ceilings, will receive updated touches of soft greys and neutrals. This space offers the most expansive dance floor in the region, accommodating up to 1,200 people. “Our 8,200 square-foot room is one of our strongest features of the entire hotel,” says Thomas McKenney, general manager, Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center. “We will be able to accommodate large groups in a memorable setting.”

The expansive fitness center will be updating its offering to Sheraton Fitness programmed by Core Performance. Presenting new cardio and strength equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines and stationary bicycles, guests will be able to maintain efforts for effective health solutions while traveling. The colorful complex will bestow an invigorating feel with its color scheme of bright colors.

Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center's signature castle-style architecture creates the perfect backdrop for a magical and memorable celebration. The unique setting provides a royal yet warm ambiance, bringing the fairytale romance to life while still maintaining a modern vision full of sophistication. Guests are greeted with a familiar feeling of comfort with the renowned Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds® and have the opportunity to swim and relax with both an indoor pool, and a seasonal outdoor pool and patio. The hotel is centrally located in the outer Boston technology belt and features 375 oversized guestrooms and suites.

The hotel's extensive IACC approved conference facilities, are comprised of approximately 22,000 square feet of versatile meeting space.
