Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City Opens

March 8, 2013 - Located at 3524 S. Market Street in West Valley, Utah, the Design Option III, seven-story hotel was developed by West Valley Lodging Initiatives, LLC and will be managed by Renascent Hospitality.

Embassy Suites Hotels introduced the new upscale, full-service, all-suites Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City to local officials and community members last night with a lively grand opening event. Located at 3524 S. Market Street in West Valley, Utah, the Design Option III, seven-story hotel was developed by West Valley Lodging Initiatives, LLC and will be managed by Renascent Hospitality.

The hotel features onsite dining with a Shula's Steak House, touted as the #1 celebrity steak house in America for more than twenty years. The property has been the focal point of a multi-million dollar, multi-phase revitalization project in downtown West Valley City, and brings 162 suites and 7,500 square feet of meeting space to this thriving downtown area.

Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City is the cornerstone of Fairbourne Station, a $500 million mixed-use development encompassing 40 acres in the heart of West Valley City. The upper upscale hotel joins 200,000-square-feet of retail space, 200,000-square-feet of office space, 1,000 urban residences and Fairbourne Station Promenade, which features four acres of urban lineal park and a plaza space.

The gala included an official ribbon cutting ceremony and silent auction to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children. Attendees included Talene Staab, senior director of brand performance support, Embassy Suites Hotels; Jim Burkett, general manager, Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City; Zachary Lybbert, director of sales, Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City; Don Shula, owner of Shula's Steak House and winningest coach in NFL history; Scott Somerville, president, Renascent Hospitality; Scott Perry, vice president of construction and procurement, Renascent Hospitality; Robyn Asher, accounting and human resources, Renascent Hospitality. Local community officials in attendance included Mike Winder, mayor, West Valley City; Wayne Pyle, city manager, West Valley City; Nicole Cottle, assistant city manager, West Valley City. Kevin Martin, administrator and M.J. Miller, director of development from Shriners Hospitals for Children - Salt Lake City were present to accept the donation made in honor of the hotel's grand opening.

Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City was constructed in the brand's Design Option III style, which decreases the amount of land needed and creates efficiencies for both construction and operational costs a variety of side-by-side suites and one-room suites, as well as a contemporary atrium area. This design further enhances the Embassy Suites guest experience as there is still a great sense of space and more natural light in guest rooms and public areas like the atrium, while still maintaining all of the offerings that are characteristic of Embassy Suites hotels including the complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, Complimentary Evening Reception*, and two-room suites with a separate living area, private bedroom and wet bar fitted with a microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker and two flat-screen high-definition televisions. The property offers a complimentary business center, an indoor saline pool and spa and fitness center.
