Rio Grande, Puerto Rico — June 18, 2012 — The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, Puerto Rico, is delighted to announce Mr. Terry Bechtold as General Manager. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Bechtold is a proven leader in the luxury marketplace, bringing a wealth of experience to his newest position in luxury hotel management at the magnificent Caribbean property. In his new role as General Manager, he will manage all property operations for Puerto Rico's only AAA Five Diamond resort, while providing guests with the unmatched service and customized experiences that are synonymous with the St. Regis brand. He is also responsible for leading the resort's sales and marketing efforts as well as recruiting and managing the property's 400 associates.

Mr. Bechtold's career spans over two decades and includes posts at some of the world's finest hotels and resorts. He joins St. Regis most recently from The Westin Park Central in Dallas, a Starwood hotel, where he was General Manager. Under his management, The Westin Park Central received the Best in Class Award in North America for two consecutive years, and was recognized as the most improved performing property in the FelCor/Starwood portfolio.

Prior to working at The Westin, he was the General Manager at the Resort at Singer Island in Florida, now called the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort and Spa. During his time at the Resort at Singer Island he oversaw the de-branding of the hotel and smoothly coordinated the exit of the Starwood brand.

Mr. Bechtold began working at Starwood Hotels in 2005 when he became the General Manager of the Diplomat Country Club and Spa in Hallandale, Florida. Prior to Starwood, his career in the hospitality industry began in 1986 where he worked various positions at numerous hotels across the country, including director of food and beverage, director of banquets and catering manager. Following his position at The Diplomat, Mr. Bechtold was the General Manager of Le Meridien Sunny Isles Beach until 2009. He earned his BS in Business Accounting from San Jose State University and also holds a Certificate in Hotel Management from the Lycee Technique Hotelier in France. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking and mountain bike riding. He is married with three children.
