Renaissance Baton Rouge Appoints Steven Ferran GM
BATON ROUGE, La. - May 31, 2012 - The Renaissance Baton Rouge announces the appointment of veteran hotelier, Steven Ferran , as general manager.
Ferran has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has held positions at numerous prestigious properties, including four 4-Diamond hotels. Most recently, he oversaw the overall operation of the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel as the general manager. He has also served as general manager of several other distinguished properties in New Orleans, including the Loews New Orleans.
Ferran has held leadership posts as vice president of resort operations for the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, and director of sales and marketing for the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans, where he was later named hotel manager. Steven began his career in hospitality in 1984 as a sales manager for the Royal Sonesta Hotel.
Prior to coming to the Renaissance Baton Rouge, Ferran served as vice president of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans where he was responsible for all programs and ministries of Catholic Charities in the North Shore region of metropolitan New Orleans.
He has been involved in several civic and professional organizations throughout his career and personal life, including chairman of the board for the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau and the organization's Past Presidents Council. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association. Presently, he serves on the St. Joseph Abbey Advisory Board, and is a Board Member for The Catholic Foundation. Ferran is a Cum Laude graduate of The University of New Orleans.
