Cape Elizabeth, Maine- May 2, 2012 - Inn by the Sea's modern, upscale coastal charm will be echoed in the addition of 10 new ocean view, luxury one and two bedroom suites, opening in June 2012. Located on a mile of pristine sand beach, with stunning Atlantic vistas and spaciousliving spaces, the new suites are designed to create an authentic yet modern coastal experience, setting the bar for stylish seaside accommodations in coastal Maine. Newly constructed around spectacular ocean views, each beach suite has comfortable living spaces perfect for intimate, romantic dinners as well as entertaining inside, or outdoors on furnished decks.

"We are looking forward to the addition of these contemporary suites that are not only luxurious but also have a fun, fresh attitude", stated Sara Masterson, General Manager at Inn by the Sea. "We've incorporated the design features our guests appreciate most, and coupled with the natural beauty of our beach location and the inn's relaxed personalized service, plan to deliver a truly exceptional guest experience."

Traditional solid teak and wicker furnishings are paired with unexpected details in glass, natural wood or hemp. A rich palette of burnt red, taupe and grey with flashes of turquoise reflect the Inn's stylish contemporary coastal attitude, creating a perfect blend of comfort, function and beauty. Artwork speaks to the sense of place and Portland's maritime history with images of Maine's renowned lighthouses, majestic sailing ships from the golden Clipper age and local harbor scenes.

The sizeable suites feature separate king bedrooms, spacious living areas with comfortable seating around cozy gas fireplaces, dining tables, fully equipped kitchens, lavish bathrooms with marble counters and oversized tubs, and private, furnished outdoor patios. Fireplaces in the two bedroom suites can be enjoyed both inside and al fresco on the deck. Suite amenities include large flat screen TV's, ipod docking stations, complimentary high speed Internet, and L'Occitane bath products. Guests will be able to connect 2 one bedroom suites on the lower level, or expansive two bedroom suites can be opened up to create three or four bedroom units .

The Beach Suite views take in both the Atlantic with lobster boats moored on the horizon, and 2 acres of restored habitat for endangered New England cottontail bunnies. A recognized leader in sustainable hotel practices, Inn by the Sea is collaborating with the Maine Department of Conservation and Bureau of Parks and Lands to restore habitat suitable to the survival of New England Cottontail rabbits at Crescent Beach State Park. The Inn has assumed full responsibility for removing invasive species on Park land adjacent to the Beach Suites, and replacing them with indigenous plants needed to protect and feed the endangered bunnies.

"Cape Elizabeth's coastal setting is important to the Inn," said Masterson. "Restoring bunny habitat, creating nectar gardens to help the survival of endangered butterflies, or creating pleasing gardens that also feed and provide shelter for local wildlife help preserve Maine's pristine environment for future generations. The beauty of this natural setting is an important part of our guest's experience- who doesn't love bunnies, beaches and butterflies!"

The construction of direct ocean view suites at Inn by the Sea reunites TFH Architects, the Portland firm who originally brought the vision of Inn by the Sea to life, with the inspired and strikingly crafted hotel spaces created by Moncur Design Associates Inc.
