Celebrate the Holidays Bayside at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay's Red Marlin
Restaurant's Festive Menus and Waterfront Location Make It a Popular Venue for Christmas and New Years
Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina's award-winning, waterfront restaurant, Red Marlin, will celebrate Christmas and usher in the New Year with festive menus designed to mark the holidays in style. In addition to the regular menu of California-modern cuisine, Chef de Cuisine Danny Bannister has created mouth-watering holiday dinner menus for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
“The combination of delicious food and gorgeous views make Red Marlin a special place to share the holidays with friends and family,” said Chef Bannister. “Best of all, guests can relax and simply enjoy being together without the stress of preparing food or cleaning dishes.”
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus will be served from 5-10 p.m. and are $45 per person, and an a la carte menu will also be available. The New Year's Eve menu will be served 5 to 10 p.m. and is $65 per person. Reservations are highly recommended, and can be made by calling the Red Marlin at 619-221-4868.
Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- Christmas Eve and Christmas Day three-course menus feature warm, wintery flavors with a modern twist. Starters include a choice of: Hand Cut Seasonal Greens with Warm Roasted Chestnuts, Dried Cranberries, and Double Smoked Bacon in a Red Wine Vinaigrette; or Roasted Acorn Squash Soup with Clipped Chives and fresh Nutmeg.
- For the main course, diners can opt for: Oven Roasted Gammon Ham with Buttermilk Whipped Potatoes, Steamed Brussels Sprouts, and Honey Glazed Carrots; or Slow Roast Prime Rib with Oven Roasted Baby Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus and Baby Bell Pepper.
- Ending the evening on a sweet note is a dessert menu with choice of individual Eggnog Cheesecake or White Chocolate Peppermint Tart with Candy Cane Dust.
New Year's Eve
- For New Year's Eve, Red Marlin will showcase a gourmet four-course menu designed to send 2011 off in high fashion. The evening begins with a choice of appetizers including: Glazed Carlsbad Oysters with Champagne Hollandaise and Caviar; Drunk Fish with Tequila Cured Salmon, Lime Wedges and Cilantro Salad; Savory Tart with Bacon, Figs, Point Reyes Blue Cheese and Frisee; or Roasted Root Vegetable Soup with Winter Spices and Crispy Potatoes.
- Following the appetizers, guests choose from salad selections including: Winter Salad; classic Caesar; or Endive Salad. An intermezzo of Lemon Sorbet follows to clear the palate in preparation for the main course.
- Main course entree selections include: Surf “n” Turf with Petite Filet, Roasted Lobster Tail, Braised Potatoes and French Beans; Seared Scallops with Root Vegetable Gratin, Bacon Cream and Fried Sage; and Duck Breast with Wild Rice, Dried Fruit, and Candied Walnuts in a Balsamic Syrup.
- The evening's culinary adventure concludes with a decadent dessert menu that includes a choice of: Warm Bread Pudding with Vanilla Bean and Jack Daniels; Chocolate and Orange Torte with Candied Kumquat and Cinnamon Cream; and Meyer Lemon Cheesecake with Sugared Lemon.
