Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club Reveals New Lounge-like Lobby Design
November 3, 2011 - Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Renaissance Vinoy® Resort & Golf Club has revealed a new lounge-like lobby featuring a library, cafe, resort shop and expanded Promenade bar. The team at Leo A Daly, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm, developed a color palette reflective of St. Pete's distinctive culture with rich vibrant colors to mirror the thriving arts scene and soothing blues, gold and warmer tones echoing the natural surroundings. The resort's iconic Mediterranean Revival architecture such as the original vaulted ceiling and quarry glazed tile floor were carefully preserved while adding new works of art such as a custom Renee Dinauer sculpture at the entry and one-of-a-kind Chihuly pieces and painting.
To encourage a more social atmosphere, furniture was carefully placed to allow plenty of room for guests to gather with friends at the bar while the new library is warm and inviting flanked by two large millwork pieces and a central fireplace. Perfect for those looking for a quick bite to eat or light snack, the new cafe offers a grab-and-go style menu and illy® specialty coffee drinks. The resort's iconic veranda has become a popular hang out thanks to added seating and a fire pit on the patio level. With the addition of the new Promenade Bar, visitors can enjoy a menu of comfort classics like house made kettle chips with Ybor City Amber Cheddar Dip, housemade jerky plate, short rib flat bread or Kobe beef burger with housemade pastrami bacon. The indoor/outdoor bar is open seven days a week from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and until midnight on weekends. Stocked with all the essentials, the new the resort shop is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Originally opened in 1925, the 85-year-old resort offers a 72-slip marina, 18-hole golf course, 12-court tennis complex, fitness center, outdoor pool, award-winning cuisine, history tours and more.
