New Microtel Breaks Ground in Houma, LA

Hotel to Offer Free Local and Long Distance Phone Calls

ATLANTA, GA, February 1, 2007. A new Microtel Inn & Suites hotel has broken ground in Houma, Louisiana at 1801 Martin Luther King Blvd., adjacent to The Landing at Bayou Cane Apartments. Owned by Guy Burch of River Ridge, LA, the hotel is scheduled to open next fall. There are currently seven Microtel Inns & Suites hotels open throughout the state in Baton Rouge (2), Bossier City, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Ponchatoula and Sulphur.

The all newly-constructed Microtel Inn & Suites in Houma will offer 63 guestrooms on three floors, with single, double and suite accommodations. Amenities will include free local and free long distance phone calls anywhere within the continental U.S., free high speed wireless Internet access in all guestrooms, expanded cable television with CNN, > HBO, ESPN, and complimentary continental daily breakfast. There will also be an outdoor swimming pool and on-site fitness center.

The new hotel is located two miles from Southland Mall, three miles from LA Interstate-90, and six miles from Houma/Terreboune Airport, Chabert Medical Center and Cajun Swamp Tours. It is a short drive to several restaurants, including Lonestar Steakhouse and Copeland's of New Orleans.
