ST. CHARLES, MO, January 31, 2007. Built as Napa Valley's first fully environmentally sustainable hotel, the Gaia Napa Valley Hotel & Spa was constructed using cutting-edge environmentally friendly technology. The 133-room hotel uses solar power and water-saving techniques in its day-to-day operations, offering its guests a harmony of luxury and nature. Every detail of the hotel must fit this model of environmental sensitivity, including the beverages offered to its guests each day - that's the reason the Gaia Hotel has turned to the Numi Tea Amenity Card program offered by Saint Charles, Mo.-based Pineapple Hospitality since it opened last October.

'Numi's 100% organic teas fit our mission of offering environmental sensitivity along with luxury and comfort,' says James Soule, General Manager of Gaia Hotel. 'It is a high-quality product with recyclable packaging that perfectly fits our image.

'Numi is an excellent fit for California's first Green hotel,' Soule adds. 'And the guests really appreciate the high-quality teas available to them right in their rooms.'

Amenity Card Program

The Numi Amenity Card offered by Pineapple Hospitality makes the finest hotel experience even more enjoyable. Guests will feel well cared for when they discover this lovely card with assorted premium teas on their pillows or in their welcome baskets. Each Amenity Card contains both a morning and evening tea blend.

Today's more than 50 million environmentally conscious customers will be even more pleased to know that Numi's teas are Fair Trade Certified, as Numi works directly with many of its tea suppliers to ensure fair treatment of the workers, better working and living conditions and an overall improved quality of life for their families.

'Hotel guests will be glad to know they are starting and ending their days with a great tasting beverage delivered to them by people who are just as concerned about the environment as they are,' says Ray Burger, President of Pineapple Hospitality. 'Along with the environmental benefits, the Numi Tea Amenity Card will improve your guests' satisfaction and lead to bigger profits for you.'

The Amenity Card contains a package of Morning Rise: Breakfast Blend of Black Teas and Sweet Meadows: Chamomile Lemon Myrtle Herbal Teasan - a perfect way for hotel guests to start and end their days.

'Numi's Amenity Card is the finishing touch that sets your establishment apart from the rest with tea offerings that not only are of the highest quality but also are in line with your values of social responsibility,' says Rebekah Barnett, Consumer Relations Manager for Numi. 'In addition, carrying Numi tea immediately raises your eco-rating. Numi is a company committed to Fair Trade, Sustainability, Organics and Community. By carrying a product like this, you are effectively communicating to your guests that you share these values and standards for global health.'

Environmental Priorities

Numi's packaging does not use cellophane wrappers, but rather 100% post-consumer recycled content in its tea boxes, wraps and even their labels. Plus, their teabags are made of natural filter paper and are fully biodegradable.

Furthermore, all of their shipping boxes and supplies are recyclable and most contain recycled and post consumer waste material. They use soy-based packing peanuts that are 100% biodegradable and dissolve in water. This will annually conserve more than 2,000 trees and reduce landfill waste by 131,000 pounds.

'We are proud to offer hoteliers a package from a company that truly shares in Pineapple's mission to provide products and services that deliver higher levels of guest satisfaction and increased profitability, while balancing environmental and social responsibility,' Burger says. 'The Numi Tea Amenity Card is great for business, great for the community and great for the environment.'

Kevin Carter, General Manager of Airlie Center in Warrenton, Va., uses Numi Teas, explaining: 'We chose Numi teas to feature at the Airlie Center because the product was developed with the environment as a priority. Numi sees its responsibility to the world environment with similar intensity as Airlie. Their methods are admirable and their end product is one of exceptional quality. We found the quality and environmental focus were a perfect match to the way that we do business at Airlie."

The Numi Mission

Founded in 1999 by brother and sister Ahmed and Reem Rahim, Numi's mission is to be the most-innovative tea company in the world dedicated to quality, sustainable values and a commitment to community.

Numi's difference is steeped in every cup. All of Numi's organic teas and teasans offer the real taste of tea by hand-blending organic whole leaf teas, fresh pure herbs and real fruits without using oils, flavorings or tea dust. 'Numi Organic Tea is delighted to partner with companies like Pineapple Hospitality, which shares the vision of a healthy and thriving world,' Barnett says. 'Pineapple Hospitality lends its industry experience and know-how to promote brands it believes are superior on every level.
