ENGLEWOOD, CO - May 11, 2011 - Destination Hotels & Resorts rounds out the management team at The Madison in Washington, D.C. with the appointment of Jim Horsman to managing director, Gavin Phillip as hotel manager and Doug Camp was named director of sales and marketing. Destination took over management of the 353-room hotel in January.

Veteran hotelier Jim Horsman will lead the repositioning of The Madison as the managing director. Horsman brings more than two decades of luxury hotel experience to the property. He most recently opened Destination's Stowe Mountain Lodge in Vermont, which was named among the top hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

Prior to opening Stowe Mountain Lodge, Horsman was the general manager at the award-winning Nine Zero Hotel in Boston when it was a part of the Destination Hotels & Resorts collection. He also spent more than a decade with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, opening and operating a number of properties in such diverse locations as Mexico, Hawaii, Dubai, Philadelphia and Marina del Rey.

Phillip has been with Destination since 1999 where he served as interim manager of Hotel ICON in Houston, manager of The Driskill in Austin, and director of rooms at Nine Zero Hotel when it was under Horsman's leadership. He also has been an integral member of the management teams at properties in Colorado, Florida and South Carolina.

Camp joins The Madison from Washington's historic Hay-Adams, where he was the director of sales and marketing for seven years. With more than 20 years experience in luxury hospitality, Camp has worked with the Orient-Express at Keswick Hall and Hershey Entertainment and Resort Company.

Destination plans to improve on the hotel's past successes with more than $20 million in enhancements from the hotel's new owner. The property will be repositioned and renovated in phases over the next year and a half to minimize any impacts on the guest experience. Interior designer Dominick Coyne and his team will complete renovations to the guest rooms and communal spaces.
