Red Marlin Fires Up Classic American Favorites This Fourth of July

Waterfront Restaurant Offers Ideal Location for Watching Fireworks

June 29, 2010 - Red Marlin restaurant will sparkle this Fourth of July with a Star Spangled buffet menu featuring items from coast to coast all weekend long, July 2-4. Located on Mission Bay, the restaurant offers an ideal vantage point to enjoy SeaWorld's red, white and blue fireworks display Friday through Sunday night, as well as up and down the coastline.

“It doesn't get more patriotic than enjoying all-American favorites with family and friends in a beautiful waterfront setting,” said Chef de Cuisine Danny Bannister of Red Marlin. “We're sure the kids will be entertained with their own special buffet and spectacular fireworks, so that the adults can sit-back and relax.”

Chef Bannister created three diverse buffet menus, for adults and kids, to celebrate the Fourth of July:

  • July 2: Highlights include several Southern style dishes including Southern Fried Chicken, Barbeque Potato Salad and Aged Cheddar and Macaroni Bake. A Carved to Order Top Sirloin served with Crimini Mushroom Demi and Creamy Horseradish Sauce will also be offered.
  • July 3: A selection of American favorites will be featured including Shrimp Pasta Provencal with Lemon and Garlic Butter; Summer Squashes and Asparagus; Grilled Chicken Breast with Rosemary and Charred Tomatoes; and Smashed Potatoes with Boursin Cheese and Chives. Additionally, a Sliced to Order New York Strip Loin with Zinfandel Demi Glace will be available.
  • July 4: Refreshing summer fare such as Jumbo Chilled Shrimp with Cocktail and Horseradish; Melon and Berry Salad with Citrus and Stone Fruits; and Tortellini Pasta Salad with Pesto and Artichoke Hearts can be enjoyed on Independence Day. Other traditional dishes include Molasses BBQ Chicken; Baked Potato Bar; and Prime Rib Carved to Order with Pan Jus and Horseradish.

The holiday buffet menus will be served July 2-4 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The buffet is $29 per person, $14 for kids aged 5 to 12 and children 4 and under are free. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 619-221-4868.

Red Marlin is located at 1441 Quivira Road in San Diego and is open for breakfast Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday; lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.; and dinner daily from 5 to 10 p.m. The bar is open daily noon to midnight.
