Coastal Hotel Group Launches First "Campus Connection" Program for UA
Lodge on the Desert offers student and parent resource program
SEATTLE - Coastal Hotel Group, a privately held Seattle-based hospitality management company, is excited to announce Campus Connection, its new online service set to launch at Lodge on the Desert, a historic boutique hotel located less than five minutes from The University of Arizona in Tucson's mid-town, beginning May 12, 2010.
Campus Connection is a resource on Lodge on the Desert's website (http://www.lodgeonthedesert.com/campusconnection) that will provide University of Arizona students and their parents with a one-stop guide to all things necessary for the new student, including local banks, electronics and furniture stores, school and office supplies, places of worship, medical facilities and pharmacies plus malls, specialty shops, restaurants and entertainment. Campus Connection will make it extremely convenient to find information that would otherwise require parents and students hours to research.
“Being new to Tucson, most students and their parents are unfamiliar with the lay of the land. Campus Connection will bridge that gap,” said Ed Schwitzky, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Coastal Hotel Group. “And this new program is simply an extension of the warm Southwestern hospitality for which Tucson is so well-known.”
Lodge on the Desert guests as well as the general public will be able to access Campus Connection on the hotel's website. Pertinent information about local businesses includes address, phone number, website link and time and distance from Lodge on the Desert.
“With Campus Connection, we're including everything the parents of a new college student might need to find, and find quickly,” added Jacque Cruce, general manager at the Lodge. “Because Lodge on the Desert is located so close to The University of Arizona, this program will serve as a virtual college concierge for parents of UA students. There are even listings of fun things to do for younger siblings.”
Plans are in place to implement the Campus Connection program at Coastal Hotel Group's other hotels including Hotel Fifty in Portland, Ore. and Cedarbrook Lodge in Seattle. “The intent is to provide this service at all our hotels located in close proximity to colleges and universities,” Schwitzky concluded.
