MAY 17, 2010 - The energy of downtown Los Angeles bursts through the lobby at the JW Marriott Hotel Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE, where varied venues provide an exciting atmosphere to enjoy a meal or snack before a meeting or an event. The food and beverage offerings at this spectacular hotel in downtown LA are sophisticated yet approachable, offering a sampling of the inspired global cuisine that sets LA apart.

The hotel partnered with acclaimed chef Kerry Simon, known for his 'rock and roll' cuisine to create a menu of modern classics at the LA LIVE restaurants that complement the surrounding music and entertainment scene. Executive Chef Eric Branger worked closely with Simon on the concept of LA Market, the signature three-meal restaurant, to create a menu that celebrates American comfort food and LA favorites. Executive Pastry Chef Ramon Ramos oversees the pastry team creating fresh pastries and breads daily while Beverage Director Christine Krenos joined forces with famed mixologist Francesco Lafranconi to create a menu of cocktails that are forward thinking yet familiar at an approachable price point. The cocktails, all handcrafted with seasonal ingredients, pay tribute to the Los Angeles lifestyle with names like Broken Dream and LA Mojito.

Upon entry to the luxury downtown Los Angeles hotel, Glance, the vibrant lobby bar, offers small bites like Seared Tuna Tacos to enjoy while sipping cocktails like the Orange Flame with fresh blood orange and the Verbena Collins with chartreuse and verbena. From Glance, an abstract mosaic of gold and copper leads to LA Market where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Kerry Simon's dedication to comfort classics features dishes like The "Meatloaf" and Bricked Organic Chicken with organic farro, braised beet greens and citrus jus. Childhood favorites are reinvented at the downtown LA restaurant with desserts like Grasshopper Pie with chocolate cookie crust, mint chocolate chip ice cream and a sticky chocolate ganache. The Burrata Bar, complementing a built-in cruvinet with 32 wines by the bottle or by the glass, features burrata from California, presented with accompaniments like Organic Beets and Tomato Salad.

Off the front lobby, The Mixing Room was designed to view the happenings at L.A. LIVE -- or premier sporting events via seven television screens -- along with small plates and cocktails that define modern mixology. The menu offers playful dishes like Reuben Fingers, Crab Brandade Croquettes, and Deviled Eggs and equally inventive signature cocktails like the Cuban Society with Galliano and raspberries and the Rooftop Passion with velvet falernum and passion fruit.

For a quick perk or a morning meeting, Illy Espressamente Coffee Bar, the only signature Illy coffee bar in LA, offers guests an authentic Italian coffee experience. For a relaxing post-meeting cocktail or a day spent soaking in the California sun, ION Pool Bar boasts one of the best views of the downtown skyline.
