New Counsel for Marriott

WASHINGTON, DC, December 29, 2006. David Mann has been named Senior Vice President & Associate General Counsel - Corporate Transactions, Finance & Governance, Marriott International. In his new responsibilities, Mann will oversee the legal aspects of corporate finance, mergers and acquisition, and securities work for Marriott, as well as the Office of the Corporate Secretary.

"David's many years of experience in the hospitality industry, including his time at Ritz-Carlton, make him a valued asset for Marriott. His proven ability to handle complex transactions and provide strong leadership will be a great benefit to our Corporate Transactions Group," said Edward A. Ryan, executive vice president and general counsel.

Mann is returning to Marriott International headquarters from The Ritz- Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marriott International. Since 2001, Mann has served as deputy general counsel and corporate secretary for Ritz-Carlton. Mann joined Marriott in 1995 as a finance attorney in the corporate affairs practice group of the law department. He was promoted to senior counsel in 1997 and assistant general counsel in 2000. From 1998 to 2000, he held the additional position of corporate secretary for Marriott International, Inc.

Mann earned his B.A. magna*censored*laude from Dartmouth College in 1984, and his J.D.*censored*laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 1988. Prior to joining Marriott, he was an associate in the corporate section of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld's Washington, D.C. office, where he specialized in public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, and securities law.

A native of Suffield, Conn., Mann now lives in Washington, D.C. He will transition to his new duties over the next few months.
