Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa TM Appoints Victor Woo As Vice President and General Manager
LA QUINTA, CA, July 14, 2006. Victor Woo has been appointed vice president and general manager of Rancho Las Palmas Resort & SpaTM in Rancho Mirage, Calif. In his new position, Woo oversees the day-to-day operations of the 444-room resort, which is managed by KSL Resorts.
Woo's career in hospitality spans more than 17 years. Most recently, he held simultaneous roles for KSL Resorts: director of sales and marketing for the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego and interim general manager at the Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley, Calif., where he led the hotel through the Interstate Hotels & Resorts acquisition period. Prior to his role as interim general manager, Woo spent nearly four years as director of sales and marketing for the Claremont where he oversaw marketing, public relations, group and transient sales, reservations and revenue management.

Woo launched his career in 1989 with the San Francisco-based Kimpton Group, where he worked for four years as sales manager and director of sales. Following his tenure with the Kimpton Group, he worked for two years as director of corporate sales at San Francisco's Renaissance Parc Fifty-Five Hotel followed by five years with Inter-Continental Hotel Group, serving as director of incentive and midwest sales at the Mark Hopkins Inter-Continental Hotel in San Francisco and then as director of sales for the Inter-Continental Hotel in Chicago. Prior to joining KSL Resorts in 2001, Woo was director of resort sales at the Sonoma Mission Inn in Sonoma, Calif. where he was promoted to director of sales and marketing after just six months.
A 1989 graduate of the University of San Francisco, Woo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. His wife, Linda, is also in the hospitality industry.
