Karisma Appoints Food & Beverage VP

Jeroen Hanlo Promoted Within Company

MIAMI, FL, August 2, 2006. Karisma Hotels and Resorts, the premier luxury hotel group in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeroen Hanlo to the position of Vice President of Operations for Food and Beverage, effective August 15, 2006. Hanlo joined Karisma Resorts in September 2003 as Food and Beverage Director and brings more than a decade of resort experience in Food & Beverage to Karisma. In his new role, Hanlo will oversee all aspects of Food & Beverage operations at Karisma's Gourmet-Inclusive properties: Azul Beach Hotel, Azul Blue Hotel + Spa, El Dorado Royale Spa Resort, El Dorado Seaside Suites and Hidden Beach Resort.

A professional chef for twenty years, Hanlo began his career in Michelin one- and three-star establishments in Europe. He served as guest chef for Dutch and Belgium embassy events in London and was named Chef of the Year by World Traveler. Hanlo was instrumental in opening several world-class hotels such as Hyatt International, The Ritz Carlton and Caesar Park. Part of the team to open the first luxury all-inclusive hotel, Royal Hideaway, Mr. Hanlo continued to serve as Food and Beverage consultant for many years following the launch.

Previously, Hanlo was Executive Assistant Manager and Food & Beverage Director for Allure Resort, and Director of Operations of the Forchetta Group. In this capacity, he was involved in food & beverage while creating new product opportunities that resulted in sparkling new concepts throughout the Mexican Republic. Due to his success, Hanlo was invited by the Mandarin Oriental in Singapore to organize the Mexican Culinary Festival in cooperation with the Mexican Embassy.

At Karisma Resorts, Hanlo is known as the resident foodie and credited with authoring the high-end concept of "Gourmet Inclusive," which has become synonymous with the Karisma brand. Together with his team, Hanlo looks forward to continuing to create memorable and inventive culinary experiences for Karisma guests.
