Amaan Spa at Kani Lanka Offers Ayurvedic and Well Being Treatments

The Amaan Spa at Kani Lanka Resort and Spa, Sri Lanka, focuses on peace, harmony, balance and well-being and all the treatments are designed to enhance the health of the body mind and spirit. The spa offers guests a range of body therapies, Ayuvedic therapies, body wraps, scrubs and polishes, a selection of spa packages and beauty treatments.

Set away from the resort and overlooking the lake, the spa aims to help guests maintain perfect inner balance. The Amaan Spa uses natural remedies that have been used since ancient times, which include the use of lime, ginger, black pepper, coriander, rosewood and lemongrass. All treatments use massage oils and products that are blended by using only natural ingredients of pure essential oils.

Ayurvedic Therapies take an ancient Indian approach to healing and body wraps envelop bodies with natural goodness. Guests are asked to complete a questionnaire to find their 'ayurvedic personality' whether it is Vata, Pitta or Kapha. Treatments are then carried out in line with the results.

The Amaan Spa signature range is broken down in to the categories of peace, harmony, balance and well-being. Guests wanting to relieve the stress in their minds and the muscular tension in the body should chose treatments from the 'peace menu' which incorporates the use of ingredients including lavender, geranium, petit grain and clary sage in apricot kernel, sweet almonds and vitamin E carrier oils.

Guests wishing to achieve tranquillity of the mind can choose from the selection of harmony endorsing treatments which include the use of mandarin oil, frankincense, orange Florida, Mandarin, Ylang Ylang, Lime in Apricot and Wheat Germ.

One of the most unusual treatments available is the detoxifying tea and coconut scrub. Tea is a natural stimulant and detoxifier whilst coconut is full of natural healing elements. This 30-minute facial costing US $45 (approximately lb25) brings these two components together to create one of the best natural scrubs to cleanse and rejuvenate the skin.

Other treatments include the Warm Stone Massage, which is an hour long treatment that focuses on energy release and chakra to enable hot, smoothed lava stones to assist with the therapeutic massage. The body's natural healing powers are determined by the energy from the stones' connection to the earth to give an extremely deep and relaxing massage. This treatment costs US $75 (approximately lb40).

The 45 minute slimming chocolate body wrap is a wonderful mood enhancer. The slimming agents and moisturisers made from jojoba oil, caramel, cocoa and milk extract which help eradicate fatty tissue and cellulite. The combination of smells and physical sensations leaves guests feeling totally cleansed and uplifted. Price - US $75 (approximately lb40).

There is a wide range of facials available, including deep cleansing, firming, hydrating and desensitising facials. Other luxurious treatments include the After Sun Deep Conditioning Hair treatment (made from coconut oil, yoghurt and essential oils), Coconut Milk Baths, the Exotic Fruit Body Wrap and and the After Sun Soother treatments (an hour and 45 minute aloe vera gel body wrap).

Before each treatment a specially selected drink is offered to guests in order to enhance the effects of the chosen treatment. A glass of pure spring water is then recommended post treatment in order to balance the body following therapy.

Spa packages are also available, such as the Honeymoon Special including chocolate wrap, aroma massage, facial and sensual bath.
