Montreal to Host Gay Travel Convention
MONTREAL, Canada, July 28, 2006. From May 15 to 20, 2007, Montr'eal will welcome the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) Convention at the Hyatt Regency.
"We are extremely proud that Montr'eal has been chosen as host city of this important annual meeting," says Charles Lapointe, President and CEO of Tourisme Montr'eal.
During the association's recent convention in Washington this past May, the selection committee was completely won over by Montr'eal, as much by its warm personality as by the proposal the local committee and Tourisme Montr'eal jointly submitted to hold this prestigious meeting. Hosting this conference not only has a major impact on association members but on the city, since the travel professionals taking part in this event act as Montr'eal's ambassadors on the world gay and lesbian tourism market.
Recognized by the international gay and lesbian community for its effervescence, hospitality and openness, Montr'eal is the destination of choice for thousands of tourists who each year come here to enjoy its European charm and the array of events offered by its dynamic gay community.
Whether hosting the Black & Blue Festival, the Divers/Cit'e Festival or the 1st World Outgames, which will take place until August 5, Montr'eal is one of the preferred destinations of LGBT travelers.
