Choice Takes Cambria Brand to Ohio

. October 14, 2008

JULY 26, 2006. Choice Hotels has broken ground on the Cambria Suites in Green, Ohio in the Akron-Canton, Ohio region.

The event served as a celebration of the company's commitment to the select-service upscale market and the confidence that hotel developers have shown in Choice's new brand.

"We are thrilled to be in a location that appeals to travelers to both Akron and Canton and benefits from its close proximity to the Akron-Canton Airport and Interstate 77," said William Edmundson, vice president of brand management and strategy for Cambria Suites. "We are also especially pleased to be working with the Leatherman family as a franchisee. With a well-experienced management team and a well-earned reputation as a first-class hotel developer and operator, the Leatherman family is exactly the type of developer we are looking for as we build the Cambria Suites brand."

Cambria Suites is a fresh alternative to the other brands that exist in most markets today, and developers are very excited about the size of the Cambria Suites room and its stylish offerings.

This stylish new lifestyle hotel brand was launched by Choice Hotels in response to strong market demand for a select-service, upscale hotel product.

This upscale segment continues to perform well and Choice licensees want to be part of the action with a Cambria Suites hotel.

"Our Cambria Suites brand-focused sales team is working diligently to ensure we have properties in the right markets with the right franchisees and the right management companies," said Brad LeBlanc, vice president of franchise sales for the Cambria Suites brand. "We continue to find hotel developers that are extremely interested in pursuing Cambria Suites opportunities."

The Leatherman family has also executed a franchise agreement to develop a Cambria Suites property in Columbus, Ohio. The groundbreaking for that location is expected to occur in early 2007.

The all-suites hotels boast a design that is more intimate and less institutional than traditional hotel d'ecor and guestrooms that are 25 percent larger than standard hotel rooms.

Hotels will offer the latest in technology, from a large-screen plasma television in the lobby to two flat-panel televisions, MP3 jacks and CD/DVD players in the guestrooms and complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access throughout the property.
