Benchmark Appoints Jodi A. Doughty Director of Sales & Marketing for Hotel Icon
HOUSTON, TX, July 7, 2006. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Jodi A. Doughty as director of sales & marketing for Hotel Icon. This exclusive property is a Personal Luxury Hotel by Benchmark situated in the landmark Union National Bank building at the gateway to downtown Houston's arts & entertainment district. Eric Adame, general manager, made the announcement.
"It is my pleasure to welcome Jodi to Hotel Icon," said Mr. Adame. "She has worked with first rate properties during her career and comes well-equipped to lead the sales & marketing programming here at Hotel Icon."
Most recently, Ms. Doughty was director of sales & marketing for the JW Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton of Jakarta, Indonesia, successfully navigating both luxury properties through turbulent times within the global hospitality industry. While in Jakarta, Doughty served for a time as the executive director for the American Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia.
Ms. Doughty previously held the position of director of group sales for the St. Regis Hotel of Houston. During her tenure at this property, the hotel won the prestigious Starwood Group Revenue Hotel of the Year Award. Prior to this she served as director of group sales for the Park Plaza Warwick Hotel, also located in Houston. She began her career in hospitality employed by the La Fonda Hotel and the Hilton Sante Fe, both located in Sante Fe, New Mexico.
Jodi Doughty attended Mesa Community College of Mesa, Arizona, and Arizona State University of Tempe, Arizona.
