Hotel Providence Receives AAA Four Diamond Rating in its First Year
PROVIDENCE, RI, August 2, 2005, For its first year of operation, the luxury boutique Hotel Providence has earned a well-recognized AAA Four Diamond rating, becoming the second property in Providence to acquire this status.

According to AAA, more than 44,000 properties are evaluated each year. Approved properties are included in AAA's popular TourBook travel guides, and also have the opportunity to be included in many of the 200 retail travel guidebooks published by AAA each year.
To be considered for AAA approval and rating, lodgings and restaurants undergo a thorough inspection by one of AAA's 65 full-time, professional evaluators. AAA first started listing accommodation information in its travel publication in the early 1900s. In 1937, the first field inspectors were hired, and the current Diamond Rating System was introduced in 1977.
