The castle dates back to the 19th century but had been abandoned for many years when Christian Dior bought it in 1950 as a holiday home. He lovingly restored it to its former glory with the help of architect, Andr'e Svetchine and enjoyed several years hosting parties and family gatherings here. When he died in 1957, the property was inherited by his niece.
