Kimpton Appoints Joe Capalbo New Manager of Hotel Marlowe
CAMBRIDGE, MA, October 14, 2008. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced today the promotion of Joe Capalbo to hotel manager of the Hotel Marlowe. In his new position, Capalbo will be responsible for overseeing daily operations at the Hotel Marlowe, Kimpton's AAA four-diamond rated property, a vibrant luxury hotel situated on the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Capalbo is a 10-year veteran to the hospitality industry, having started his career as a bellman and working his way up through the operational ranks. Capalbo began his career with Kimpton in 2004 as Guest Services Manager at the Hotel Marlowe. Since then, he has become a key player in the Greater Boston area, holding positions as the Director of Front Office at Nine Zero in June of 2006, and the Operations Manager at the Onyx Hotel in June of 2007. Throughout his years working with Kimpton, Capalbo has earned respect from employees and peers alike, while simultaneously building lasting relationships with hotel guests.
Capalbo has also been on several Kimpton hotel opening and transition teams throughout his time with the company. He has been instrumental in training and developing new staff; through his leadership, his hotels have consistently ranked at the top for both guest and employee satisfaction. During his previous tenure, Hotel Marlowe was ranked third in Boston on Cond'e Nast Traveler's "Hot List 2006" and Nine Zero Hotel was featured on Cond'e Nast Travelers "Gold List" 2004-2006.
Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Information Systems from Boston College. Outside of the hotel, Joe is an avid sports fan and spends time at his home in Derry, NH with his wife and young son.
