Holiday Inn Phuket Undergoes Multi-million Dollar Refurbishment
PHUKET, Thailand, August 30, 2006. The Holiday Inn Resort Phuket has recently undergone a series of refurbishments to provide guests with a more stylish environment and even greater choice. The redesign included upgrading all 265 of the resort's main wing rooms to modern superior rooms or de luxe sea view rooms, as well as a total makeover of the hotel's public areas, including pool, restaurants and bars. This was coupled with the creation of new kids pools and kidsclubs.
Holiday Inn Resort Phuket was opened in 1987 as the first international resort in Patong beach, situated just 15 minutes from Phuket town. Already an innovator in terms of accommodation and facilities in the area, Holiday Inn Resort Phuket continued to undergo regular renovations from 1996 to 2001, always upgrading its facilities and introducing new features such as themed-landscaped pools, a guest service centre and special facilities tailored for families with children.
Having achieved the highest guest satisfaction among all the InterContinental Hotels and Resorts within Asia Pacific back-to-back from 2003 to 2005, Holiday Inn Resort Phuket continues to go from strength to strength as the leading international hotel brand on Patong Beach. Many of the employees working at the resort have been with the property for more than 7 years, giving customers a real feeling of returning home as an ever increasing base of our guests choose to return year after year.
"The extensive renovation and upgrading program at Holiday Inn Resort Phuket demonstrates our deep commitment to providing genuine Thai hospitality and service from the heart, combined with the international standards of the world's most recognised hotel brand," commented Mr. Wolfgang Meusburger, General Manager, Holiday Inn Resort Phuket.
Mr. Pang Sang Choi Director of L.C. Thailand Ltd Pte, the company which owns Holiday Inn Resort Phuket, said: "Maintaining the resort to a high standard guarantees a repeating customer base and a high return. As owners of the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket we are delighted at the ongoing investment in the facilities made in co-operation with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and continued strong performance."
The 265 rooms in the main wing have been redesigned with modern furnishings, new bathrooms and 'up to the minute' conveniences. In addition 11 family or kidssuites rooms have been added. Family and kidssuites rooms are themed in a pirate look and children enjoy sleeping in bunk or boat shaped beds complete with their own television and Sony Playstations. 16 de luxe sea view rooms offer large balconies and open bathroom concepts, and are finished in a contemporary d'ecor, with large flat screen TV's and free mini bars.
To top it all off, a one bedroom 120 sqm -penthouse suite is being added to the top floor of the resort, offering a further dimension of luxury. The penthouse comes with a large balcony giving extended views across Patong and out to sea.
In the main wing the restaurants have undergone a total renovation. Seabreeze Caf'e, offers live cooking theme buffets on a nightly basis and overlooks the main pool. Terrazzo Ristorante & Bar, an all-Italian restaurant with alfresco and indoor seating, provides a romantic beach view for the dining guests and a great bar to watch the Patong Beach scene drift by. Sam's, a hip and modern steak house, serves celebratory dining from a menu of steaks and grills accompanied by choice wines. The bar, with its open water court seating, is a great place to meet new and old friends and listen to the nightly DJ or watch the various shows.
The rejuvenation of the resort's buildings is complemented by re-landscaped gardens and pools, as well as the addition of a new children's pool and a new kidzone. The resort operates two separate kidsclubs, one looking after kids from the age of 5 - 10 and the other, called 'Club 12+', offering meeting points for teenagers complete with computer stations and karaoke and movie rooms.
