Splendia.com Expands Offering with UltraDirect

. October 14, 2008

DALLAS, TX, September 9, 2008). Luxury hotel brand Splendia.com has tapped Pegasus Solutions' UltraDirect to complement its offering of 2,500 hand-picked luxury and character hotels with luxury chain hotels. The move, which will better position Splendia.com to compete in the U.S. and Asian markets, is expected to boost visits and bookings to the already popular site.

Receiving one million unique visitors a month, Splendia.com provides the ultimate online reservation service for the discerning leisure and business traveler in the world's best destinations. Though still promising an exclusive portfolio, the move to include luxury chains had highly strategic value to maintaining the site's global growth and popularity, according to Elie de Coignac, CEO and co-founder.

"Splendia.com offers a unique selection of independent and individually managed hotels, but now, through our cooperation with Pegasus, we can complete our offering with luxury chain hotels," said Coignac. "This step is essential to our growth in the U.S. and Asia, where renowned hotel chains dominate the landscape. We will, of course, continue to be extremely selective in the hotels we accept to ensure we maintain the exclusive and high standards our customers expect."

With UltraDirect, Splendia.com will gain direct, real-time access to hotel central reservation systems (CRS) for a selection of Pegasus' hotel properties globally connected through the Pegasus Switch. The technology also enables fast, immediate confirmation of booking and cancellation requests with secure access to negotiated rates.

"Pegasus has long focused on improving distribution for independent hotels via UltraDirect, through our representation service Utell(R), and with our consumer-facing Web site hotelbook.com," said Tore Wick, vice president of business development for Pegasus. "Working with Splendia.com, we actually are bringing the benefit of luxury brands to the table for the company's independent hotels to appeal to a broader audience and gain visibility for both the independent and chain hotels represented."
