Beth Britto Opening GM
ATLANTA, GA, September 4, 2008. Atlanta-based Hotel Equities (HE) recently celebrated the opening of the 70-room Country Inn & Suites in Albany, GA with a Ribbon Cutting and Open House. Hotel Equities holds the management contract for the all-new property located at 2809 Nottingham Way. Beth Britto serves at the General Manager and Luciana Jones is the Operations Manager for the hotel. The owner of the hotel is SAGU, LLC.
Beth Britto brings more than 13 years experience to her current position as General Manager of the Country Inn & Suites-Albany. She began her career as a Front Desk Associate at the 500-room Hyatt Regency hotel in Nashville, TN where she gained valuable experience and moved into management. She went on to help open Nashville's Union Station Hotel and later managed the Front Desk at the Doubletree Hotel in Nashville before taking a break to start a family.
Ms. Britto joined Hotel Equities on 2002 as Operations Manager of the Fairfield Inn in Charlotte, NC. The company promoted her to General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Macon, GA. While in Macon, she served on the Board of Directors of the Macon Convention & Visitors Bureau.
In January of 2008, Hotel Equities tapped Ms. Britto for an assignment in Albany, Georgia. She accepted the challenging role of General Manager of both the 70-room Country Inn & Suites-Albany, then under construction, and the Best Western Albany Mall Inn & Suites, a 63-room hotel that was open but under renovation.
Ms. Britto continues to manage both properties. Albany Technical College recently invited her to serve on the Advisory Board for the school's hospitality curriculum.
SAGU, LLC is owned by Navin Patel. The firm developed and owns the Country Inn & Suites-Albany, GA. It is SAGU's first property but Navin Patel has developed, managed and owned the Best Western Inn & Suites-Albany, GA for last 10 years under a different corporation name. Hotel Equities is the management company for both hotels.
Albany Mayor Willie Adams, Jr. addressed the invited guests and helped cut the ceremonial ribbon. He welcomed the city's first Country Inn & Suites hotel and noted the guests it will serve and the jobs it will bring to Albany. Other dignitaries at the event included Fred Cerrone, President and CEO of Atlanta-based Hotel Equities; Navin and Lasti Patel, hotel owners; Lisa Riddle, Director of the Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau; Donna Gray, Sales Director of the Albany Chamber of Commerce; and Winston Oxford, Director of the Lee County Chamber of Commerce.
The hotel features a heated indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and exercise room. Other amenities include a complimentary hot continental breakfast and a 75-person capacity meeting room. The hotel offers a variety of guest rooms including standard rooms, studio suites, one bedroom suites, Jacuzzi rooms and an extended stay suite. All rooms feature both complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access, a hair dryer, 32" flat panel television, microwave and refrigerator. This Country Inn & Suites property is conveniently located less than ten miles from Dougherty City Airport. The hotel is situated close to both Grand Island golf course and Double Country Club Tennis courts.
