Carter, CHA and General Manager of Airlie Conference Center speaks at the "Greening the Hospitality Industry Conference", sponsored by the Green Meetings Industry Council and scheduled for October 5-7, 2005, at The Inn & Conference Center, University of Maryland University College. His topic is "Design Green and Operating Green - Strategies To Improve Your Position In The Market."

Airlie Conference Center was awarded the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality's highest level of environmental recognition - "E3" certification in 2004. Airlie Center is the first hospitality organization in Virginia to achieve this distinction. This award reflects Airlie's "demonstrated commitment" to the environment as evidenced by its wide range of environmental endeavors and pollution prevention program.
