JULY 24, 2008. Luxury hotel industry veteran Lester Scott has been appointed to the position of General Manager of Sol'is, The Palmyra Resort & Spa. In his role as General Manager, Mr. Scott will have direct oversight and management of all aspects of Jamaica's newest luxury resort.

Launched by legendary hotelier and former president of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Horst Schulze, Sol'is Resorts & Hotels is a new luxury hotel brand that includes a collection of resorts, hotels and residences offering a convergence of unparalleled designs, settings and experiences.

Scheduled to open in Winter 2008, Solis, The Palmyra, will introduce the brand to the North American market. Located along 16 oceanfront acres on the grounds of a former Jamaican plantation within the elite enclave of historic Rose Hall, the resort's signature offering will be centered on delivering a distinctive guest experience via superlative service within a relaxed, yet sophisticated resort environment. Sol'is, The Palmyra boasts Jamaica's first branded ESPA destination spa, designed by global spa guru Susan Harmsworth, CEO and founder of the spa company. The resort also offers beautifully-appointed suites, penthouses and villas with full kitchens, premium cable HDTV, and high speed internet. Already, the resort has received a Leading Hotels of the World designation - a rare pre-opening achievement.

Lester Scott joined The West Paces Hotel Group, one of the industry's leading hotel management companies, in 2006 as Director of Operations for Hotel 71 in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Scott also held the position of Hotel Manager for the Royal Palm Resort located in Miami, Florida, and most recently he was in charge of managing day-to-day operations for The Daufuskie Island Resort and Breathe Spa in Daufuskie Island, South Carolina.

Before joining West Paces Hotel Group, Scott worked for many years with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, as well as Wyndham Hotels. Prior to his career in the hospitality industry, Lester proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
