NORMAN, OK, Ocotber 23, 2006. A new management team is on board at the Residence Inn by Marriott located in Norman, OK. Carrie Burleson, General Manager, and Susan Bash, Director of Sales, have been appointed to oversee the operational and marketing aspects of the hotel. The property is professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group, Inc., a national hotel management firm currently operating 26 properties.

Burleson begins her new position with many years of experience in the hospitality industry. She started her career with Waterford in 1989 as Sales Manager for the Residence Inn Norman, and most recently as the Director of Sales. Burleson has twice won the Waterford Hotel Group Director of Sales of the Year award, both in 2000 and in 2005. She is a native of Oklahoma City, and currently resides in Norman. Highly involved in her community, Burleson holds positions on numerous committees and tourism organizations in the Norman area, including the Norman Arts Council, Norman Hospitality Association, and the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau. She holds a Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) Certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Association since 1991, and most recently completed the Waterford Hotel Group Penn State Leadership Program. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

As Director of Sales, Bash will be responsible for the total sales effort of the hotel. She first joined Waterford at the Residence Inn Norman in Front Desk Operations, then as an Account Manager before being promoted to Director of Sales in 1997. Since then, she has served the Norman Chamber of Commerce as Director of Community Development, and most recently, at the University of Oklahoma in Reservations and Catering. Bash holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Oklahoma, and is a member of the Norman Chamber of Commerce. She currently resides in Norman.
