Covecastles Resort Anguilla Appoints New GM
ANQUILLA, September 17, 2005. The appointment of Candis A. Niles, as the new General Manager of Covecastles Resort Anguilla, in succession to Sylvene Petty, who retires at the end of the month, has been announced by the Managing Directors of the property, Myron and June Goldfinger.
Mrs. Niles, who is already taken up the post, has a long career in the fields of tourism and education. Prior to her present appointment, she served from September 2004 to June 2005 as Manager at KoalKeel Restaurant, one of Anguilla's leading fine dining establishments.
From 1995 to 2004 she was employed as Deputy Director of Tourism. Among other duties she had direct responsibility for Corporate Communications, Marketing, Training and Human Resource Development.
Mrs. Niles, who is a Certified Caribbean Hospitality Trainer, was responsible for spearheading the successful Hello Tourist Program as a pilot project in three of Anguilla's primary schools. Highly skilled in public relations and marketing, she has traveled extensively over the past years promoting the island as a tourist destination.
