HSMAI Launches New Online Revenue Management Community
Unites Sales and Marketing Professionals Engaged in the Revenue Management Field
MCLEAN, VA, October 10, 2006. In a further move to unite sales and marketing professionals engaged in the revenue management field, the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International's (HSMAI) Revenue Management Special Interest Group (SIG) launched a new online revenue management community. The new offering will provide a host of resources and an interactive forum related to revenue management for HSMAI members.
"The debut of this online revenue management community is in answer to members' request for an information-rich and interactive forum created to serve their very specific needs and interests," states Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. "The Revenue Management SIG is made up of extremely talented and passionate professionals who are excited about this new community forum, which will serve them both individually and as a further move to advance the industry."
The first initiative was an online conference discussing challenges that exist when trying to incorporate a revenue management culture and position (new or existing) into an organization. Related to that is a special viewing of the archived HSMAI University Webinar: "Building a Successful Revenue Management Culture" and the ability to post questions to presenter Kathleen Cullen, who is also the co-author of HSMAI's "Defining Revenue Management: Top Line to Bottom Line," the first-ever comprehensive report on revenue management. A practitioner-friendly publication that addresses the fundamentals of revenue management for a broad audience of hospitality professionals, the report delivers tools and information for revenue management education, incorporating expert advice from interviews with industry executives and educators, case studies, and practical checklists for implementing successful revenue management strategies at the property level. The publication is available for $79 through HSMAI at www.hsmai.org.
The community site also features:
-- An orientation to the community
-- A personal mailbox to receive communications and solution replies
-- Announcements, polls, updates, and important information regarding the community
