Millennium Announces Executive Appointments in Boston, New York & St. Louis
NEW YORK, NY, October 4, 2006. Millennium Hotels and Resorts has announced three new executive appointments, further strengthening the company's corporate management team. Jay R. Campbell has been appointed general manager at the Millennium Hotel St. Louis, John D. Murtha has been named general manager of the Millennium Bostonian Hotel and Mark R. Irgang becomes general manager of the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel.

Immediately prior to joining the Millennium Hotel St. Louis, Campbell was general manager of Interstate Hotels' Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel in Clayton, Missouri. He has also held general manager positions for Meristar Hotels and Resorts in Dallas and at the Radisson City Center in Indianapolis. Campbell began his hospitality industry career in 1979 holding management positions with Houlihan's Restaurants and LA Cafes. In 1987, he joined the hotel industry as director of food and beverage at Hotel Park Tucson and then as assistant general manager for Renaissance Hotels and Resorts in Dallas.
Before joining the Millennium Bostonian Hotel, John D. Murtha, a native Bostonian, served as general manager at the Ocean Edge Resort and Club on Cape Cod. Previously Murtha spent 18 years with the Sonesta Hotel Company and a number of their flagship properties including the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston.
Irgang joins the Millennium UN Plaza property from his position as hotel manager at the Millennium Broadway. In addition to his Millennium experience, Irgang has over twenty years of distinguished service with several Marriott hotels. Most recently, he was resident manager at the Marriott East Side Hotel where he was responsible for overall operations at the 646-room property. In addition to holding executive positions at the Marriott Marquis Hotel (front office and resident manager) and the Newark Courtyard Marriott (general manager), he served as the northeast regional director for Marriott Courtyard Hotels from 1998 to 2000. Irgang holds a bachelor's degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the prestigious Cornell University School of Hotel & Restaurant Management where he has also been a visiting lecturer and a mentor. He also completed The Ritz-Carlton Company's Service Training program in 2004. He has served on the executive board of directors of Inside Broadway Charitable Foundation since 2000.
