BARBADOS, October 3, 2006. Elegant Hotels Group in Barbados is gearing up for the re-opening of their newly-renovated Tamarind Cove Hotel. Officially re-opening tomorrow, the property's renovation was designed to enhance the resort's facilities, interiors and outdoor spaces.

The Mediterranean-styled Tamarind Cove Hotel borders a 750-foot white-sand crescent beach, set amid delightful hibiscus and bougainvillea gardens at Paynes Bay (St James Parish) on Barbados' exclusive west coast. The resort's rooms command views of either the tranquil beach, stunning pool area or elegantly landscaped gardens, creating a unique guest experience. Tamarind Cove's renovation extends its exceptional comfort and adds to its distinctive appeal inside and out.

"Our guests love the comfort and charm of Tamarind Cove so we have preserved those characteristics of the resort in the latest renovations," said Leroy Brown, general manager, Tamarind Cove Hotel. "We have significantly improved the property's guest rooms, furnishings, dining spaces, pools, technology and now boast two spacious meeting rooms -- allowing for a seamless guest experience."

Tamarind's decor and color-scheme are reflected in other elements of the property. Brick pavers enhance the character of the new pathways along the beach-entrance and guestroom wings. Old-world European accents have been added to the Sasso pool deck, including balustrade allowing spectacular views of the beach and sea. The pools nearest Sasso restaurant and the courtyard have been completely redone and tiled to enhance the resort's Euro-Caribbean style. To ensure ultimate relaxation, new beach lounge accessories include 6 inch thick cushions to provide the utmost comfort when lounging beach or pool side as well as beach umbrellas.

Upgrades continue indoors with Tamarind's guestrooms, all updated with refurbished furnishings, lighting and mini refrigerators, while all bathrooms have been updated, and balconies feature new patio furnishings. One bedroom and Luxury Ocean View Junior Suites all feature flat screen TVs.

New additions include:

" New lobby furniture

" Newly-constructed fitness center with state of the art equipment

" New business center adjacent to the meeting and function rooms

" Complimentary WIFI in-room and throughout all public facilities to in- house guests.

Tamarind's restaurants and bars also received upgrades to highlight their atmosphere and location. The resort's open-air eatery, Tangiers, and pool-

side Oasis bar received significant enhancements with granite bars and counter tops and new furniture. The Sasso Restaurant, offering an a la carte taste of the Mediterranean with classic and contemporary Caribbean specialties, reflects a new look, including a tiled floor and elegant balustrade.

Providing an ideal setting for meetings, Tamarind now boasts two of the largest function and conference rooms on the west coast. The Palm Room, 1,400 sq. ft., can accommodate up to 100 persons in theater-style seating. Tamarind's more intimate conference space, The Oleander Room, 1,100 sq. ft. has a theater-style seating capacity of up to 30 persons with the new business center located adjacent to both rooms offering computers for internet access.
