Cache Creek Names New Chairman

. October 14, 2008

SEPEMBER 21, 2006. The board of directors of the Cache Creek Casino Resort announced today that Marshall McKay has been appointed as its new chairman. McKay succeeds Paula Lorenzo-Tackett, who will continue to serve as a member of the board.

"Over the past thirteen years, as a board member of the Cache Creek Casino Resort, it's been gratifying to see our early dreams grow into such as successful enterprise," McKay said. "Today, with 2,500 employees and a payroll of more than $100 million, we're the largest private employer in Yolo County, and we've become an extremely popular destination resort, with over 98 percent hotel occupancy. I'm honored to serve as the new chairman of our board."

Cache Creek is a full-service resort located in Brooks, California and is owned and operated by the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians. The resort features a casino with 2,600 slot machines, more than 100 gaming tables, eight restaurants, a health spa, pool and 200 hotel rooms. An 18-hole golf course, adjacent to the Casino Resort, is scheduled to open in early fall of 2007.

The Casino Resort has been designed to minimize impact on the environment by employing advanced water management technologies, solar energy and recycling programs. The golf course will use reclaimed water for irrigation.

Chairman McKay has a diverse background in education, business, Native American tribal government, politics and the arts. His strong interest in the renaissance of Native American culture provides the foundation for his leadership roles within the Rumsey Tribe.

Born in Colusa, California, McKay grew up in Brooks near his present-day home on the Rumsey Indian Rancheria. After attending Sonoma State University in Northern California, McKay worked in management for the United States Navy and retired as a nuclear refueling manager. Responding to calls from members of his Tribe, he returned to the Rumsey reservation to take an active role in the Tribe and community's economic growth by working in the initial development and subsequent expansion of the Cache Creek Resort. He began his career in tribal government in 1984, leading to his election as Tribal Chairman in January, 2006.
