Maureen Vipperman Named director At Pacific Palms
SEPTEMBER 13, 2006. The Spa at Pacific Palms has named industry veteran Maureen Vipperman as spa director.
She will oversee operations of the new spa facility, which is scheduled to open in February 2007 as part of a $17 million refurbishment project. Plans also include the new Elements Bar & Grill, a new golf pro shop and golf course improvements.
Vipperman's priorities include working with the design team; developing the spa fitness and recreation team; and creating a signature line of products and treatments. She is known for establishing an orange-inspired scent that was infused into the atmosphere and treatments at The Spa at Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort in Dana Point, Calif.
"Hiring the spa director is a mission-critical step as we prepare for the opening of The Spa at Pacific Palms. In addition to Maureen's business sense, her personalized approach to providing each guest a memorable experience will help us establish one of the most unique spas in the region," said Scott Huntsman, general manager, Pacific Palms Resort.

Since 2004 Vipperman served as director of resort spa operations at The Spa at Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort. She worked for five years as director of resort spa operations at The Spa at The Inn at Bay Harbor, Mich., a Renaissance Resort. A former U.S. Marine, she directed fitness routines and testing.
Vipperman teaches spa hospitality management and operations at University of California, Irvine. She is a member of the International Spa Association and is a Certified .
