Beijing, China - May 6, 2014 - The executive team of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) completed its tour of China in Beijing, where they participated in a hospitality forum and visited with EI partner schools. The trip celebrated EI's 10-year presence providing hospitality education, training, and professional certification resources in China.

After taking the bullet train from Tianjin to Beijing, the EI executives participated in the Beijing Educational Institute Forum, hosted by the International Education & Cultural Alliance (IECA), EI's regional partner in Beijing. The event was held on the campus of the Beijing International Studies University and was attended by professors, local officials, and BISU students. EI president Robert L. Steele III, CHA, gave the opening address to students (pictured above), followed by a question-and-answer session. Among the participants at the forum was Michigan State University professor and EI author A. J. Singh.

The next day, the team went to the Beijing Hospitality Institute (BHI), one of EI's Global Academic Partner (GAP) schools. BHI president Gao Songtao, Ph.D., gave a tour of the school, which included an on-campus hotel with 38 rooms, plus two restaurants. The facilities are used for teaching and providing students with the opportunity to use practical skills.
