Foulger-Pratt's Award Winning Rockville Metro Plaza II Building Achieves Leed Platinum Certification
Rockville, MD - March 14, 3014 - Foulger-Pratt Companies is pleased to announce its Rockville Metro Plaza II building has been officially certified as LEED Platinum. Notification was received from the U.S. Green Building Council that the building achieved 46 credits, which qualified it for the Platinum-level rating.
Clayton Foulger, Principal of Foulger-Pratt commented: “From the beginning our goal was to develop, design, construct, and operate a trophy office building that is transit-oriented, high performance in key areas of human and environmental health, and timeless in its architecture. The achievement of LEED Platinum certification and the multiple industry awards that Rockville Metro Plaza II has attained is the culmination of that goal.”
The LEED Platinum certification was made possible by incorporating numerous energy efficient systems and unique features including use of wind power via Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), thoughtful incorporation of design features to support workplace wellness, careful selection and procurement of building materials, and enabling occupants to access multiple transit options. With its prime location adjacent to the Metro station and within Rockville Town Center, Rockville Metro Plaza II is a 297,000 square foot trophy office building that is the new world headquarters for Choice Hotels International, which relocated to Rockville in May 2013.
