NewcrestImage to Construct Hotel as Anchor for Downtown Amarillo, Texas Redevelopment Project

November 6, 2013 - NewcrestImage is adding another innovative project to its portfolio with construction of a six-story hotel that will become part of an ambitious public-private partnership to reinvigorate downtown Amarillo, Texas.

The hotel, to be built directly across the street from City Hall on six acres of land owned by the city, will be part of a $113 million complex scheduled to include a ballpark, a parking garage, and a retail arcade with destination shopping and dining. It will include 17,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.

Additional details of the hotel - including brand, number of rooms, and timeline -- are expected within the next 90 days.

This project continues NewcrestImage's creativity in hotel construction, including:

• The first dual-branded hotel in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex -- a property that is scheduled to open in December two miles from the DFW Airport, featuring a Courtyard by Marriott with 181 rooms and a TownePlace Suites with 120 rooms
  
• One of the first AC Hotel brand hotels in the United States -- a property with boutique features and European-style urban design that is being created through conversion of the historic 223-room Cotton Exchange Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans, with completion scheduled for fall of 2015
  
• The 2011 "Best Adaptive Reuse" Award from the Texas Downtown Association for redevelopment of the Fisk Building in Amarillo, which dates from 1927 and was designed into a stylish 107-room Courtyard by Marriott About NewcrestImage
