PHILADELPHIA - September 27, 2013 - The Loews Philadelphia Hotel, once known as the historic Philadelphia Saving Fund Society building (PSFS), is pleased to announce it has added more than 3,000 square feet of small meeting and board room space to its existing conference and event facilities, bringing its total function space to more than 48,000 square feet.

Aimed at providing smaller groups under 30 people with a variety of flexible room options, the $2 million renovation includes the addition of five new spaces equipped with modern technologies and features - including high speed wireless capabilities in all rooms. The new rooms are ideal for business meetings and small parties or functions. An upscale executive library room located on the hotel's concierge level provides the ideal location for a board meeting with exclusivity. The 33rd floor PSFS room features the hotel's expansive, stunning city views. These new additions are examples of how the hotel is catering to the small meeting groups by providing additional availability farther out in advance of arrival.

“As a result of the meeting industry's need to accommodate the growing small meetings market, we have expanded our meeting space,” said Ed O'Boyle, Director of Marketing, Loews Philadelphia Hotel. “Our newly-created meeting rooms reflect the same superior quality for which our hotel is known, while simultaneously catering to an increasing segment that is in high demand for both meetings and catering events, especially as the holiday season approaches.”

The new function space includes five new rooms:

  • PSFS Room - Featuring panoramic city views from the hotel's 33rd floor, the premiere PSFS room is 800 square feet.

  • Library Boardroom - Located on the exclusive Club Lounge level, this 625-square-feet luxury boardroom features an extensive library.

  • Penn Room - A private, 625-square-feet meeting room with three walls of windows is located on the 5th floor.

  • Mezzanine Room - A smaller, more intimate deluxe boardroom that features 350 square feet and is located on a private floor.

  • Franklin Room -This 680-square-feet room is located on the hotel's designated third floor conference level.
