Nürnberg - September 19, 2013 - The double hotel project in the heart of Nürnberg has officially begun construction today with the laying of the foundation stone. This building complex will soon be home to a Holiday Inn Express Hotel (124 Rooms) and a Hampton by Hilton Hotel (80 Rooms). The first guests are due to arrive in the Bahnhofstraße in the autumn of 2014. The GBI AG is investing around 20 Million Euro in this project: “Nürnberg is one of the most underrated and promising Hotel Markets in Germany. We have already had great experiences here with other projects such as the Motel One, the NH Nürnberg City and the Park Inn,” says Reiner Nittka of the board of directors at the GBI AG. Proof of a great choice and a fantastic concept was already presented before construction commenced; a German real estate fund has purchased both Hotels.

The operating company behind these economy hotels is Foremost Hospitality: “With this hotel combination we are able to target a wide variety of guests that have come to value the service and facilities of two of the largest Hotel Chains in the world, and we can do this in a very central location in Nürnberg,” says Managing Director Hubert van de Loo. The Holiday Inn Express belongs to the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and the Hampton belongs to Hilton Worldwide. Van de Loo: „A project like this is ideal for a market like Nürnberg, which we have analyzed in great detail and found great potential in.”

Changing needs for international guests, this project in Nürnberg is Foremost's first double hotel Endeavour in Germany.

“We want this to be a role model for similar concepts,” says van de Loo; “through this we can cater to the ever changing needs of the international hotel guests, that don't want to forgo the standards they are used to.” The lease contracts in Nürnberg were arranged by Colliers Hotel, a member of the Colliers International Property Consultants.

That a final construction gap is being filled through this project is something which pleases the city's head very much. “International guests will greatly appreciate this,” says the 2nd mayor of Nürnberg Horst Förther convincingly. Up until now the empty lot has really been an eye sore to guests arriving to Nürnberg by train. Förther: “Now we have harmonious real estate concept. And when two of the world's largest hotel chains decide to launch this project in Nürnberg, then this really speaks for the quality of our region.”
